Course Curriculum

The detailed curriculum outline of our Safeguarding Children – Level 3 Training is as follows:

Module 1: Strategic Safeguarding Responsibilities

Safeguarding becomes a wider organisational responsibility at a leadership level. Learners examine governance, policy development, audits, compliance, whistleblowing, escalation routes, and ways organisations can maintain stronger safeguarding oversight.

Module 2: Complex Types of Abuse

Some safeguarding concerns are less visible and can involve multiple risks at once. This module explores exploitation, grooming, online abuse, sextortion, radicalisation, honour-based violence, forced marriage, and peer-on-peer abuse.

Module 3: Risk Assessment and Early Intervention

Early recognition can make a significant difference when concerns are developing. Learners explore safeguarding risk assessments, emerging indicators, intervention thresholds, preventative strategies, support planning, and working with external services.

Module 4: Handling Disclosures and Trauma

Responding to a disclosure requires sensitivity, careful listening, and an appropriate understanding of trauma. The module covers child-led disclosures, trauma-informed responses, parental reactions, emotional wellbeing, burnout, and supporting children through recovery.

Module 5: Recording, Evidence, and Case Reviews

Good safeguarding records help organisations identify concerns, demonstrate actions, and learn from previous cases. Learners examine recording standards, patterns and trends, reflective supervision, serious case reviews, and continuing professional development.

Module 6: Reporting and Escalation Framework

Safeguarding concerns may require communication across several services and organisations. Learners explore external reporting, working with social care and police services, safeguarding oversight, confidentiality, information sharing, and responding to persistent or organisational safeguarding failures.

I appreciated the depth of the Level 3 content. The topics around online exploitation, case reviews, information sharing, and escalation gave me a stronger understanding of how safeguarding concerns can be managed.
