Course Curriculum

The detailed curriculum outline of our Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is as follows:

Unit 01: Introduction

Begin with an introduction to the course and its mathematical foundations. This unit prepares learners for the concepts and problem-solving approaches covered throughout the remaining units.

Unit 02: Mathematical Logic

Mathematical reasoning takes centre stage here, with an introduction to logic and structured thinking. Learners develop a clearer understanding of how mathematical statements and reasoning work.

Unit 03: Matrices

Explore matrices and how mathematical information can be organised into rows and columns. The unit introduces key concepts that can support further study in mathematics, technology, and technical subjects.

Unit 04: Trigonometric Functions

Trigonometry introduces relationships between angles and measurements. Learners explore trigonometric functions and their role in solving mathematical problems involving shapes, distances, and relationships.

Unit 05: Pair of Straight Line

This unit focuses on pairs of straight lines and the mathematical relationships between them. Learners develop their understanding of equations and coordinate-based problem solving.

Unit 06: Lines & Planes

Move from individual lines to broader geometric concepts involving lines and planes. The unit helps learners develop spatial and analytical thinking through mathematical relationships.

Unit 07: Linear Programming

The final unit introduces linear programming and mathematical optimisation. Learners explore how mathematical constraints and relationships can be used to find suitable solutions to structured problems.
