Learners will explore the sensitive issue of child sexual abuse and understand how abuse may occur both online and offline. The module explains common indicators, safeguarding procedures, protective measures, and the importance of early intervention and reporting.

This module examines how domestic violence and abusive home environments can affect children emotionally, socially, and psychologically. Learners will understand the long-term impact of exposure to abuse and ways to support affected children safely and appropriately.

Learners will develop understanding of safeguarding risks and how risk assessments help identify and reduce harm. The module explores environmental risks, behavioural concerns, vulnerability factors, and safeguarding planning within child-focused settings.

This module focuses on responding appropriately when a child discloses abuse or safeguarding concerns. Learners will understand how to communicate calmly, record information accurately, follow reporting procedures, and maintain confidentiality while prioritising child safety.

The final module explains the actions and responsibilities involved after safeguarding concerns have been referred to appropriate authorities or support services. Learners will understand follow-up procedures, ongoing support, professional cooperation, and safeguarding documentation practices.
